What is a Weblog?

A Weblog(or Blog) is a web-based publishing system that helps you publish
to the web instantly – whenever you need it. It is a personal diary that you
can reflect in, share views, make notes and contribute to your community at
large. The Weblog, has a broad range of uses and is available to support the
campus academic, research and public service goals.

Some of these goals and or groups include:

  • Professors and students informally following a particular topic of study or interests
  • Faculty, staff and others in departmental, research-group or campus community social organizations

What you can do with Weblog:

  • Manage, update blogs, journals and frequently-updated website content
  • Departments and Organizations can do nanopublishing and create knowledge bases

For the University of Maryland community, this new Weblog capability means expanded
