Call for Participation

How Can You Participate?
Calling all University of Maryland faculty, instructors, teaching assistants and instructional support professionals! Presentations, for which no formal paper is required, can elaborate on any contributions made that support student success on campus. Some examples include (but are not restricted to) the following:

  • Innovative use of a learning technique or methodology
  • Novel use or adaptation of contemporary technologies that supports students
  • Innovation in group learning or problem solving
  • Case study to meet clearly defined learning objectives
  • New paradigm on which the organization of a course is based
  • Report on student experience for online or blended course
  • Use of MOOC materials in your class
  • Report on experience delivering Fearless Ideas course around innovation
  • Report on experience delivering Global Classroom or other international teaching collaboration
  • Report on experience integrating research experience into the classroom
  • Report on development of service learning experience and impact on students
  • Impact of changing from expensive to low-cost or free course resources
  • Description of how you improved support for diversity and made your class more inclusive

The conference’s electronic environment will also support those who wish to

  • demonstrate “course wares”
  • demonstrate “best practices” in instructional design
  • provide “virtual” explorations of new learning environments or instructional techniques
