I am an assistant research professor at the University of Maryland in College Park. I study teaching and learning in K-16 STEM, with a focus on the interaction of conceptual, epistemological, and affective dynamics of learning. I have worked in a number of formal learning contexts, ranging from elementary schools to universities. I am currently supporting educators as they work to make their classrooms more equitable and create more opportunities for students’ disciplinary sense-making and ethical reasoning.
