Role Description

Evergreen Strategy Group, a social impact, public policy, and communications agency, is seeking Interns with excellent writing and research skills to help support client work in Spring 2024. Ideal candidates will be highly self-motivated, good collaborators, detail-oriented, fast learners, and interested in a wide variety of state-level and national public policy issues.

As part of the Evergreen team, you will contribute to strategies and campaigns that help purpose-driven companies, nonprofits, and public figures make progress on important issues – from climate change to voting rights to gun violence prevention, and more.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Research: Collecting and synthesizing background material on legislation and policy developments across various issue areas, potential clients, reporters and news outlets, and current events. Contributing research to inform messaging, speechwriting, policy memos, and other written products.
  • Writing: Taking the first pass on briefs, one-pagers, and memos and supporting the outlining and drafting of memos, op-eds, speeches, and other written products on substantive policy topics and political issues.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student in an accredited college or university (or within six months post-graduation);
  • Previous internship experience;
  • Demonstrated interest in public policy, social justice, and/or corporate purpose;
  • Excellent writing and research skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Positive attitude and ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a virtual work environment;
  • Weekly availability within standard working hours on a continental U.S. time zone;
  • U.S. work authorization is required, as we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

This is a fully remote position, pay is $18/hour, and between 15-20 hours/week is expected. The start and end dates for this position are flexible based on your academic calendar, but will approximately run from January 8, 2024 to May 24, 2024. Mentorship and professional development will be priorities, and we will offer opportunities for you to network with our staff, your fellow interns from around the country, and policy and communications professionals outside of Evergreen through virtual events.

Evergreen is committed to building a diverse team and strongly encourages women, people of color, individuals with disabilities, and veterans to apply.
