JOB SUMMARY:
The Strategic Planning and Analytics Unit of the Bronx District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a Planning Analyst. The Planning Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Unit with a wide range of duties primarily related to grants management and funding innovative projects and initiatives, including but not limited to: policy and legislative research, grant research and writing, proposal development, data analysis and program evaluation, progress reporting on funded projects, budgeting, and overall management of grant-funded and other projects. Sexual Assault Legal Institute Consultations

SALI Consultations: October 1st 12-2pm and October 17th 10am-12pm

A lawyer from the Sexual Assault Legal Institute will be available for free consultations on October 1st 12-2pm and October 17th 10am-12pm. Schedule a confidential, 30 minute appointment by emailing the CARE office. Being a CARE client is NOT required to access this service.⁠ All sessions are protected under attorney-client privilege. An attorney can answer questions, provide information on the University and Criminal Justice processes, and assist with filing reports on and off campus.

Become a Violence Intervention Ambassador

There’s still time to sign-up for Violence Intervention Ambassador Training!

The VIA program is a 11 hour, four session training that will equip you with tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent power-based violence on our campus, and in our world. ⁠The training will cover topics including interpersonal and systemic violence, bystander intervention, supporting a survivor, social change, student activism, and self-care.⁠ Completion of the program will provide you with a VIA Certification, volunteer and leadership opportunities with CARE, professional development, and intervention skills, and a community of students passionate about this issue.⁠

How to Help a Friend – Lunch and Learn Workshop

How to Help a Friend l October 15th, 2-3pm l MICA Cozy Corner

Join OCRSM, CARE and One Love for a lunch and learn. The How to Help a Friend workshop will focus on how to respond and navigate supporting a friend, peer, or partner that has been impacted by sexual misconduct. In this workshop, we will discuss what to do, how to respond, and emphasize the importance of self-care. Optional registration link here.

The Clothesline Project

The Clothesline Project | October 9th, 10am-3pm | McKeldin Mall

The Clothesline Project is a visual representation of the impacts of sexual and relationship violence on the campus community. This event from the CARE Office provides community members with an opportunity to confront the issue of power-based violence by creating and displaying their own messages on a shirt during DVAM.

DVAM Resource Fair

DVAM Resource Fair | October 4th, 12-2pm | McKeldin Mall

The UMD Sexual Assault Prevention Committee will host the DVAM Resource Fair to promote awareness and services related to power-based violence prevention and response on campus. Attendees can browse tables and meet with representatives from various organizations. This will be the kick-off event for the campus-wide DVAM calendar and groups will be able to advertise their upcoming events to the campus community.

CARE in Conversation: Flipping the Scripts

Come to CARE in Conversation: Flipping the Scripts and enjoy coffee and donuts while we discuss ways we can build healthy dating, sexual, and platonic relationships. We’ll unpack cultural scripts related to consent, power, and sex and their impact on norms and expectations for relationships, and the ways that we can rethink those scripts.
