Major Changes to Berkshire Hathaway’s Portfolio During Second Quarter of 2024

After the market closed today, Berkshire filed a Form 13F for the second quarter of 2024. The following major changes were made in Berkshire’s equity portfolio during the second quarter:

Reduction of Stake

Apple – sold 49% of stake = $70 billion (estimate)

Chevron – sold 4% of stake = $750 million (estimate)

Capital One Financial – sold 21% of  stake = $400 million (estimate)

 

Elimination of Stake

Snowflake – $1 billion (estimate)

 

Addition to Stake

Chubb – add 4% of stake = $300 million (estimate)

Occidental Petroleum – add 3% of stake = $450 million (estimate)

 

New Position

Ulta Beauty – $300 million (estimate)

Heico – $200 million (estimate)
