Join an exciting project mapping Baltimore’s food networks! We’re studying how communities grow, catch, and share food through gardens, fishing, and mutual aid.
What You’ll Do
- Grower interviews: 2-hour on-site visits with urban farmers and gardeners
- Fisher interviews: Quick 20-minute chats at Baltimore fishing spots
- Data management: Digitize documents, manage spreadsheets, clean transcripts
Requirements
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, good team player
- Available weekends/weekdays for fieldwork (Sept-Oct)
- Comfortable with outdoor work and community engagement
- Interest in data entry
Preferred
- Spanish fluency and reliable transportation (priority given)
- Baltimore City residents preferred
- Experience with community outreach
Details
- Pay: One paid position (up to 8 hours/week) + unpaid credit/volunteer options
- Schedule: Fieldwork 9am-5pm (fall), remote data work (winter)
- Training provided in all research methods
- Always work with 3-4 team members
