Who Can Apply?

  1. 800-word essay (12pt Times New Roman, double-spaced) describing:
    • Your interests in geographic science and computer science
    • Career goals
    • How your joint background will help achieve these goals
  2. Faculty recommendation letter on institutional letterhead addressing your academic performance and career potential
  3. Official/unofficial transcript with relevant coursework highlighted, plus brief course descriptions

Named for Dr. Duane Marble (Marble Fund creator) and the late Dr. A.R. “Ray” Boyle (pioneer in computer cartography and GIS), this award celebrates the intersection of geography and technology that drives modern spatial analysis.
