Visiting Fulbright Scholar to Speak on Forest Ecology & Traditional Knowledge – October 17

The Department of Anthropology and the Program in Society and the Environment (PASA) are delighted to host Dr. Prasit Wangpakapattanawong, a visiting Fulbright Scholar from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, for two special events on Friday, October 17.

Dr. Wangpakapattanawong’s research centers on forest restoration and ethnoecology in northern Thailand, exploring the vital connections between ecological systems and Indigenous knowledge. During his semester-long visit to UMD, he will share insights from his decades of work on the social and ecological dimensions of tropical forests.
