Learn What It Takes to Protect and Serve: Join the UMPD Citizens Police Academy

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD)? The Citizens Police Academy offers students, faculty, and community members a hands-on look at police work in a simulated academy environment.

From February 3 to April 28, 2026, participants will meet on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM at the UMPD Police Training & Academy Building. Sessions explore different aspects of policing and community safety while building stronger connections across campus.
