
The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Foundation Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Last year, approximately 70 UMD students received this award.
Key Deadlines
- Returning Students (Previous Recipients): January 31, 2026.
- Note: This is an earlier deadline than in previous years.
- New Applicants: March 27, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Enrollment: Enrolled at UMD or other eligible DC/VA/MD institutions (e.g., Virginia Tech, UVA, NOVA, Montgomery College, VCU, UDC, Towson, JMU).
- Citizenship: U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident. (Specific provisions exist for Vietnamese students from Vietnam).
- Age: Between 17 and 30 years old.
- Academics: Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Attributes: Demonstrated leadership potential, strong community service record, and financial need.
Award Information
Selected recipients receive financial support and access to professional development opportunities, including mentorship with industry professionals in the Washington, D.C. area.
