Save Soil Movie Screening: “Common Ground” (March 12) – be sure to register!

Save Soil is launching Cultivating Change: Save Soil Movie Event (featuring Common Ground film) to raise awareness in our community about the soil degradation crisis and how we can be part of the solution. Cities around the globe will be hosting an event featuring a film titled Common Ground, produced and directed by Kiss The Ground organization. This event will be free and open to the public.

CSAWWA Student Opportunity Panel (Open to All)

The UMD Chapter of the Chesapeake Section of the American Water Works Association is hosting a virtual panel featuring experts in water policy, research, and other related fields including a speaker from the EPA. The focus of this event is to

  • provide an informative session where panelists will share insights on their work and experience in the water industry, answering any questions, and
  • offer a valuable networking opportunity.

Panelists will discuss upcoming projects, events, internships, job opportunities, and ways undergraduates at the University of Maryland can engage in research or community involvement that can enhance their educational and career trajectories.

UMD Info Challenge 2025

The annual UMD Info Challenge will take place this year March 1 – 8, 2025. Organized by the Info Challenge Initiative, this event provides an opportunity for college students to compete in solving real-world problems in the areas of data analytics, security, and design – using projects provided by partner organizations.

College students from UMD College Park, UMD Baltimore County, Montgomery College, and the US Naval Academy are eligible to participate. Each year, dozens of faculty and staff from these institutions volunteer their time to support this event as mentors and judges. Past partner organizations that have provided challenge projects and/or valuable financial support include, EY, Amazon Web Services, Google, the National Cancer Institute, Booz Allen Hamilton, The Library of Congress, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, and the The U.S. Department of Agriculture. Join us!

The annual Career and Internship Fair, hosted by the University Career Center, provides BSOS students and alumni with an opportunity to meet with employers to discuss internship, full-time, and part-time employment opportunities.  Employers are looking forward to meeting undergraduate and graduate students! Business professional attire is requested.
