Han River
One of my favorite places in South Korea so far is the Han River. The Han River is one of the major rivers in South Korea and it runs through the central part of the peninsula. It is an amazing place to get away from the rapid lifestyle of the city.
There are many parks running along the river where locals go when the weather is nice. At the parks, you will find many people sitting on the grass relaxing or having lunch.
When I visited one of the parks, the first thing I did was get ramen at the convenient store. South Koreans are huge on instant ramen and it is delicious too. Looking around the park, I noticed a lot of bikers; both professional and casual. However, the casual bikers all had similar bikes. That was when my friend told me that there were bike rentals at the parks. I was super excited to try it out. The bikes lanes ran down the entire river and the view was amazing was riding was amazing.
I was super lucky on the day of my visit because there happened to be a sports event going on. I’m not a huge sports person, but after the event, all the participants were invited to a concert held here at the park. Although I wasn’t allowed into the closed part of the concert, it didn’t stop me from finding a spot where I could get a good view of what was going on. The concert was amazing (and the best part was it was free!).
That wrapped up my day at the Han River and I can’t wait to go back and enjoy a nice picnic at the park.
