We have an opening for 1-2 fully-funded graduate students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the Geotechnical Engineering Program at the University of Maryland to start in Fall 2025. The prospective student should hold an engineering degree from an accredited university. Experience in experimental methods is preferred but not a requirement. The research will be focused on laboratory tests and supporting numerical simulations of multiphase transport through soils and soil-geosynthetic composite. The research will involve thermo-hydro-chemo-mechanically coupled experiments and analyses that account for high temperature, solute transport, mechanical swelling/shrinkage and cracking, etc. Interested candidates should send a resume and personal statement to Dr. Eun directly with a brief self-introduction and CV.
