Dr. Lin joined UMD as an Assistant Professor in 2025. Previously, he was a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where he initially trained as a visiting Ph.D. student and later as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. He earned his Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2018 and B.E. from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2013, both in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Lin’s research is focused on fundamental phase-change heat and mass transfer, with applications to energy transport, conversion, and storage.
