QUEST is an organization where we work hard and play hard. This spring break, students went all around the country visiting cool new places on individual QUESTs.
Neeha Satrasala (Cohort 39) had the chance to head down south to Orlando to visit a bunch of different amusement parks including both Universal, Disney and local attractions. Included here are some of her pictures at Disney with the Epcot ball as well as Remi from Ratatouille.
Neeha is a big Harry Potter Fan and so she said her favorite part of the trip was going to see Hogsmeade
(I hope she got to try the butterbeer, it’s amazing). They also got the chance to go on the Hagrid
Motorbike Roller Coaster three times. Normally it has a line that can take three hours to wait through, but
they got lucky and there weren’t many people there that day. Finally, Neeha gave me her ranking of all the
parks that she went to. She said her favorite was Islands of Adventure, followed by Universal and then
Disney. However, she said that her favorite park was Epcot because she was able to make a trip “around the world.”
I also had the chance to speak with Ayman Bootwala from Cohort 38 who is an applied mathematics and
economics major. He was able to go down to Houston with the UMD Cricket team over break. The University Cricket team has never had the chance to compete at the national level. However, with Bootwala at the helm, the team was able to represent the University of Maryland on a national stage.
The team just narrowly missed the semi-finals because they got third in their group. They beat both Virginia Tech and MIT in their group stage but lost to Houston and UCSD. Ayman said, “I was proud to represent the University of Maryland and show them my Maryland Pride.”
