Sweet Memories, Stronger Bonds: The 2024 QUEST Homecoming Tailgate

QUEST students couldn’t wait for the annual QUEST Homecoming Tailgate which was hosted on October 19th this year. Students, faculty, staff and alumni of the program all gathered in Lot L for a great time, celebrating and cheering on Maryland Football!

As they do every year, QUEST Social led the planning and organizing for this popular event. Rohan Gudwani, Co-Lead of QUEST Social and member of Cohort 42, was one of the students who was highly involved in the set-up! Gudwani loves this event every year, sharing:

“The homecoming tailgate is one of QSocial’s most fun events in my opinion; it’s an annual tradition! We invite alumni for homecoming weekend and host a tailgate for the homecoming football game with fun activities for current and former QUEST students.”

Each year, QUEST Social also tries to spice things up with new and unique activities. These activities are decided by the club as a whole, where all ideas are welcomed and students are given the opportunity to brainstorm on behalf of their cohorts. For Homecoming this year, the club decided on a “Build-Your-Own Caramel Apple” station. All attendees were given the chance to load up an apple with an assortment of their favorite toppings to enjoy in the warm weather. In addition to the apples, this year’s tailgate had Qornhole (QUEST-themed cornhole) and an assortment of refreshments.

While the QUEST program is highly focused on building up students professionally and academically, its core values have always included friendship and connection. QUEST members and faculty cherish the relationships they build through the program, and events like the Homecoming Tailgate play a key role in fostering those connections. This year, students and faculty left the tailgate with stronger bonds—and perhaps a bit more of a sweet tooth!
