Marshall Schroeder named John and Maureen Hendricks Energy Research Fellow
Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) graduate student Marshall Schroeder, advised by Maryland NanoCenter director Professor Gary Rubloff (MSE, Institute for Systems Research), has been named a John and Maureen Hendricks Energy Research Fellow.
Xinyi Chen receives Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad
Xinyi Chen is one of 489 winners of this high-competitive award among about 2 million self-financed Chinese students studying abroad. Xinyi from Rubloff group has been working on his PHD project using ALD for nanostructured electrochemical energy storage devices, as part of our NEES Energy Frontier Research Center (http://www.efrc.umd.edu), sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. He has made major advances in both the development of ALD processes and materials and in their application to electrochemical nanostructures. Towards his PHD thesis research, he has published 5 papers in high- impact journals. He has defended his PHD in April, 2012 and start to work for LAM Research as a process engineer.
Gregorczyk Wins Second L-3 Fellowship
Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) graduate student Keith Gregorczyk, advised by Professor Gary Rubloff (MSE/Institute for Systems Research), has been awarded his second L-3 Graduate Fellowship by Clark School Corporate Partner company L-3 Communications.
