This Country is only for Trump Believers

The Trump administration continues to violently violate the civil and human rights of international students who have protested against Israeli policies and actions.  Yesterday (April 24), Republican Senator Ashley Moody offered the Trump administration response: “the US is out of the business of importing hate or those whose presence here would undermine our security or national policy interests.” These students protesting Israel are no threat to US national security by any stretch of the imagination.

But what is most frightening in this rationale is that you can be thrown out of the country if you disagree with Trump’s policies.  Supporters of Trump’s policies are at most half the country.  What about the rest of us?!  What about the other half the country who disagrees with Trump’s “national” policies?  Are we not welcome here?  Would Trump favor a mass deportation of Democrats?

A large portion of our populace disagrees with Trump’s policies.  Many Americans abhor Israel’s treatment of Gaza, want sensible immigration policy not inhumane mass deportation, and want to return to being on Ukraine’s side, for instance.

If you believe in any of these things it seems you are unwelcome here.  And if you are not a citizen you have to live in fear of deportation if you exercise your right to disagree or even criticize Trump in any way.

This is simply outrageous, beyond the pale of the political process.  The Right accuses Democrats of opening the floodgates to immigration in order to get more Democratic voters.  What nonsense!  It’s the exact opposite.  Trump wants only right-wing future Republicans to enter the US.
