We All Need Help Swimming Upstream (And The Next Newsletter Needs You!)

We all need help swimming upstream…
And we need you to help us create the newsletter and blog that you need.

2020-2021 will be the fourth year of the Terps Take Care newsletter, and the third year of the online resources. Every year, we have adapted content and presentation according to feedback from you: UMD students and fellow terps.

Currently, our blog includes our “Get Support Now” page (for more immediate mental health assistance) and our “Other Resources” page (for longer term efforts in mental-health-adjacent areas).

We also include an archive of past newsletters and articles and a number of blog posts, including:

  • events like the annual Terps Take Care Fair, Mental Health Awareness Week, and National Suicide Prevention Week,
  • organizations, programs, and services like Wags for Wellness, Nutrition Services, Sexual Health Programs, Kognito, Substance Use Intervention Treatment, and the Social Interaction Group Network for Students with Autism,
  • seasonal topics like navigating roommate conflicts, midterm stress, sleep hygiene, going home for the holidays, and more,
  • and student-created content, like our Terps Talk About Mental Health video series and our student-authored articles and blog posts.

So what else do you want to see? What will make TTC more useful, more accessible, and more helpful for you? What needs to be covered? Do YOU want to contribute?

You can help fill us in by answering just four brief questions (or fewer – skip whatever you want!) on our TTC: The Next Newsletter Survey.

Thank you so much. Keep swimming strong – keep asking for help and helping others when needed – and we’ll see you next year!
