The Pitch Dingman Competition
Application Deadline (Track 1 & 2): February 12, 2021 at 11:59pm
Pitch Dingman Competition is the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship’s signature annual Shark Tank-style pitch competition, where the University of Maryland’s most talented student entrepreneurs have the opportunity to compete for seed funding and exclusive access to venture development resources.

The three tracks for Pitch Dingman Competition this year are as follows:

  • Track 1: The David and Robyn Quattrone Venture Track – This track is targeted to students with scalable ventures that already have traction (revenue, users, investment and/or grants).
  • Track 2: Main Street Track – This track is for small businesses with revenue and/or initial customers but not focused on scale.
  • Track 3: Fearless Ideas Track – This track is for students who do not yet have a developed venture. This idea-style challenge asks students to improve/solve a specific problem through venture creation. This year’s challenge will be released soon. 

The Pitch Dingman Competition semifinals will be held on April 16, 2021 and the final competition will be held May 4, 2021. This year, the Dingman Center is expanding the virtual competition by doubling the prize funding and adding three competition tracks for students to enter. *ASRC Federal AFSS is seeking a Resource Analyst to support a NASA Goddard Space Flight Center contract in Greenbelt, MD. Some of the major responsibilities include:

  • Support budgeting and financial management issues and activities utilizing the financial systems/tools (SAP, Funds Control, BOBJ, CORTS) historical costs and full cost
  • Determine fiscal, budget and workforce resources requirements and provide insight to help control expenditures
  • Establish full cost resource requirements and recommend resource allocations based on priorities and needs
  • Review NASA 533 reports (plans and actuals) from major contractors and report any variances and concerns to project management
  • Prepare financial data and reports used for internal project monthly reviews and center Monthly Status Report (MSR)

*The Pitch Dingman Competition

Pitch Dingman Competition is the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship’s signature annual Shark Tank-style pitch competition, where the University of Maryland’s most talented student entrepreneurs have the opportunity to compete for seed funding and exclusive access to venture development resources.

The three tracks for Pitch Dingman Competition this year are as follows:

  • Track 1: The David and Robyn Quattrone Venture Track – This track is targeted to students with scalable ventures that already have traction (revenue, users, investment and/or grants).
  • Track 2: Main Street Track – This track is for small businesses with revenue and/or initial customers but not focused on scale.
  • Track 3: Fearless Ideas Track – This track is for students who do not yet have a developed venture. This idea-style challenge asks students to improve/solve a specific problem through venture creation. This year’s challenge will be released soon. 

The Pitch Dingman Competition semifinals will be held on April 16, 2021 and the final competition will be held May 4, 2021. This year, the Dingman Center is expanding the virtual competition by doubling the prize funding and adding three competition tracks for students to enter.
