Additional COLA and One-Time Bonus

Great News! Governor Hogan had previously approved a 2% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for State employees, effective January 1, 2019.  At that time it was also announced that should the state’s FY 2018 general fund revenues exceed forecasted levels by at least $75 million, employees would receive an additional 0.5% COLA and a one-time $500 bonus, both effective April 1, 2019.

Department of Budget Management has announced that Maryland had a strong FY 2018 fiscal year and that State employees will receive the previously announced additional COLA incentives: a .5% across the board pay increase and a $500 bonus, both effective as of April 1, 2019.
