The J. Edgar Hoover Foundation established the J. Edgar Hoover Foundation Leadership Scholarship in June 2016 to provide merit-based scholarships for students in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. It is the donor’s preference that this scholarship be awarded to students who intend to pursue a career in law enforcement and have demonstrated leadership qualities.
Multiple scholarships ($1,500 each) will be awarded to high achieving CCJS rising juniors and seniors. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of demonstrated strength in CCJS coursework, merit, and leadership ability. Preference will be given to students who have an interest in and are eligible for law enforcement careers. Recipients of the scholarships will be recognized in the College’s annual Scholarship Recognition Program Booklet, shared with BSOS Donors.

DIA provides military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers, and force planners in the Department of Defense and intelligence community in support of U.S. military planning, operations, and acquisition. We plan, manage, and execute intelligence operations during peacetime, crisis, and war. There are 12 separate vacancies for all eleven of DIA’s Career Fields and two special offices. The Fairfax County General District Court is a trial court with limited jurisdiction. The court has six divisions: Civil/Small Claims, Criminal, Traffic, Payments, Court Operations and Administration. The Fairfax County General District Court’s Internship Program offers an unparalleled in-house experience. Interns will have direct exposure to the innerworkings of a busy urban court. They gain diverse, hands-on work experience and the chance to make direct contributions to the judicial process.

The duties in the Police Department of the Supreme Court of the United States involve clerical work, filling in for employees, assistance with special projects, and performing general office work in a police setting. Summer Assistants are temporary staff members. Appointments are for a minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 13 weeks.
The Department of Labor (DOL) is accepting applications for its Summer 2024 DOL Student Volunteer Program. The 10-week career-exploration program (June 10 – August 16, 2024) offers a unique platform for students to learn about DOL and apply their academic knowledge and experiences to in-person, real-world scenarios through student trainee positions. We encourage candidates to apply for student placements in areas that support DOL’s mission. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
