Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services to provide a one-hour, in-person training session on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose using intranasal naloxen (Narcan).

New MoCo FJC internship | Deadline 10/31/24

I am excited to write to you about a new internship the Montgomery County Family Justice Center has created. We are looking for energetic, dynamic students to present our Expect Respect workshops (https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/fjc/chooserespect/expectrespect.html) at Montgomery County area middle schools and high schools.
If you have students who comfortable presenting, interested in public health, behavioral health, commuications, criminal justice, education, domestic violence, social work or women’s issues, please pass the opportunity to them! The deadline is October 31st, and we are looking for commitment from November through May 2025.

U.S. DOL Workforce Recruitment Program Information

Applications for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Recruitment Program are ope until Tuesday, October 15th. The event has been created in Handshake with more information about the program. 
 

The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP), coordinated by the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Defense, is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal and select private-sector employers with highly motivated college students, graduate students, and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their abilities in the workplace through internships or permanent jobs.


The Workforce Recruitment Program is relevant to individuals who qualify for Schedule A Hiring Authority.  You can apply for jobs using Schedule A if you are a person with an intellectual disability, a severe physical disability or a psychiatric disability. 

How to Apply

Visit WRP.gov and click “Students Register Now!” to get started!  Registration opens on August 26, 2024.

Who Can Apply?

Students and recent graduates can apply to WRP if they: 

  • have a disability and are eligible under the Schedule A hiring authority.
  • are a U.S. citizen or national (residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
  • are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program on a substantially full-time basis OR have graduated with a degree on or after April 1, 2022.

New and returning WRP applicants must register and complete an application each year to continue to participate. Please use a computer or tablet to register and apply.

Registration and Application Deadline

Registration closes on Tuesday, October 15. All application materials must be submitted on the website by October 17 at 11:59 pm PSTYou will need time to get your registration approved, gather your resume and transcript, and complete your application, so please don’t delay!
