Bethany Beach Police Seasonal Police Program Summer 2026

The Bethany Beach Police Department is taking applications for summer 2026 Seasonal Police Officers. Every year, the agency hires approximately 17 young men and women who want to gain hands on experience as police officers. These individuals perform basic law enforcement duties under supervision during the summer months (May-Sept).  While doing so, the agency mentors them, trains them, and works with them to gain internship requirements if needed. In return, their employment helps our town provide more boots on the ground for the safety of our visitors and residents during the summer beach season.

Completed applications can be sent to BBPDJOBS@Townofbethanybeach.com

Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes.

Position Requirements
The Protective Services Unit (PSU) Intern will serve as an integral part of the PSU protection mission, performing administrative support in both operations and training and other technical and support duties associated with the section’s mission. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion

Overview of Division, Section and Team: The selected intern will join the Protective Services United (PSU) section of the Division of Board Members. Interns must be prepared to assist during changing schedules and fast-paced assignments.
