USG is partnering with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services to host a one-hour, in-person class on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose by using intranasal naloxone (Narcan) – a medication that is used to rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

Participants will learn:
• What an opioid is
• How to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose
• How to administer intranasal naloxone to reverse an overdose

The class will be conducted at USG on November 6th, from 1-2pm. Class will be held in building III, classroom 3241. Pre-registration is required. Registered participants will receive a FREE Naloxone kit at the end of the class.

The class is open to all members of the USG Community including faculty, staff, and students. Program representatives – please distribute the announcement widely throughout programs.
