The Montgomery County Family Justice Center with the Sheriff’s Office is the County’s service center for victims of domestic violence and their families. They currently have internships available for the Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 semesters. They have 3 types of internships: Client Services, Legal Services and Domestic Violence Prevention Programs (Spring only). The Bethany Beach Police Department is taking applications for summer 2026 Seasonal Police Officers. Every year, the agency hires approximately 17 young men and women who want to gain hands on experience as police officers. These individuals perform basic law enforcement duties under supervision during the summer months (May-Sept). While doing so, the agency mentors them, trains them, and works with them to gain internship requirements if needed. In return, their employment helps our town provide more boots on the ground for the safety of our visitors and residents during the summer beach season.

USM Scholarship Application
Students applying for the USM Scholarships for Maryland Community College Transfer Students must:
Be a Maryland resident.
Be a Maryland community college graduate or have earned at least 56 credits toward an associate degree.
Have an excellent community college grade point average (GPA should be close to a 4.0 to be competitive for Regents Scholarships).
**Please note that some awards require demonstrated financial need.
Interested transfer students at USG should complete the USM’s Scholarship Application and complete the following prompts in the application process:
After selecting the home institution, check YES to Attending a regional higher education center and choose the Universities at Shady Grove for the higher education center you will be attending.

USM Women’s Forum Scholarship
The USM Women’s Forum Student Scholarship is open to any students taking classes at a USM institution this upcoming Fall 2025 semester. Pleasefollow this link to apply to the scholarship before the deadline of June 15, 2025. For further information, please see this webpage.
All students enrolled in USG-credited classes for the Fall 2025 semester are eligible for USG Scholarships. Students must submit an application through our USG Scholarship Portal. First-comers must create an account with their email address to start an application. New students do not need to be admitted or enrolled yet in a program at USG to apply. The priority deadline is June 30, and the final deadline is July 31.
Notifications will be sent out within the first two weeks of the beginning of the fall semester.
USG will also continue to provide our food access resources through the summer including two free monthly food distributions as well as free snacks and toiletry items for students with USG IDs.
