Maryland Police Officer and Probation Agent Scholarship Program Applications Open
Current police officers or probation agents or individuals planning to become a police officer or probation agent after graduation are encouraged to apply for the Maryland Police Officers and Probation Agent Scholarship.
Who may apply?
Students who are current police officers or probation agents or individuals planning to become a police officer or probation agent after graduation who are:
Accepted for admission or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Maryland public senior institution
A Maryland resident or graduated from a Maryland high school
Enrolled full-time or part-time pursuing a course of study or program that would further the recipient’s career in law enforcement.
How do I apply?
Individuals applying for the Maryland Police Officers and Probation Agent Scholarship must submit the online application through the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) using the MHEC One App.
Important Deadline
The application for the 2025-2026 academic year will close April 1, 2026.
Service Obligation Requirement
An applicant awarded the Maryland Police Officers and Probation Agent Scholarship must sign and return a promissory note and service obligation agreement agreeing to begin fulfillment of the service obligation as follows:
A recipient must work as a police officer as defined in 3-201 of the Public Safety Article in the state for no less than five years during the eight-year period after graduation.
Award
An annual scholarship award shall be 50% of the equivalent annual tuition and mandatory fees of a resident undergraduate student at the eligible institution.

USM Scholarship Application
Students applying for the USM Scholarships for Maryland Community College Transfer Students must:
Be a Maryland resident.
Be a Maryland community college graduate or have earned at least 56 credits toward an associate degree.
Have an excellent community college grade point average (GPA should be close to a 4.0 to be competitive for Regents Scholarships).
**Please note that some awards require demonstrated financial need.
Interested transfer students at USG should complete the USM’s Scholarship Application and complete the following prompts in the application process:
After selecting the home institution, check YES to Attending a regional higher education center and choose the Universities at Shady Grove for the higher education center you will be attending.

USM Women’s Forum Scholarship
The USM Women’s Forum Student Scholarship is open to any students taking classes at a USM institution this upcoming Fall 2025 semester. Pleasefollow this link to apply to the scholarship before the deadline of June 15, 2025. For further information, please see this webpage.
All students enrolled in USG-credited classes for the Fall 2025 semester are eligible for USG Scholarships. Students must submit an application through our USG Scholarship Portal. First-comers must create an account with their email address to start an application. New students do not need to be admitted or enrolled yet in a program at USG to apply. The priority deadline is June 30, and the final deadline is July 31.
Notifications will be sent out within the first two weeks of the beginning of the fall semester.
USG will also continue to provide our food access resources through the summer including two free monthly food distributions as well as free snacks and toiletry items for students with USG IDs.

The Rodler-Wood Endowed Scholarship Application is open in Scholarship Universe. Applications for this LGBTQ Studies and community focused award are due April 28th. The Rodler-Wood Endowed Scholarship provides $1,000 to support student success in their upcoming academic year.
Award Selection Criteria (Selection is based on one or more criteria)
Demonstrated financial need
Academic interest in LGBTQ Studies
Extracurricular activities on behalf of LGBTQ issues
Hardship based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity
Students at any level (undergraduate, master’s, doctoral) who will be returning for the 25-26 academic year are eligible to apply for the award.

The Bright Futures Initiative awards students with need-based scholarships ranging from $100-$1,000 to help offset expenses incurred during unpaid internships in the summer. Scholarships are generously funded by the Eisen Family, the University Career Center and individual donors through Maryland Giving Day.
If you are an undergraduate student who has secured an unpaid summer internship with a non-profit organization or government office, you are eligible to apply by May 5, 2025.
The Bright Futures Initiative awards students with need-based scholarships ranging from $100-$1,250 to help offset expenses incurred during unpaid internships.
Eligibility
A secured unpaid on-campus and off-campus internship with a non-profit organization or government agency for summer 2025.
A new internship experience during summer 2025 and completed by the start of the fall 2025 semester.
Supervised by a professional in the field.
Registered UMD undergraduate students returning to campus for Fall 2025. May 2025 graduating seniors are not eligible.
Preference will be given to those who have not previously received this scholarship.
This scholarship is generously funded by the Eisen Family, the University Career Center & The President’s Promise, and individual donors through Maryland Giving Day.
The Sustainability Internship Scholarship will help off-set expenses associated with an unpaid internship. Scholarship awards ranging from $1,000-$1,750 are available to help offset expenses.
Eligibility
The internship must be related to sustainability or with an organization that aligns with the UN’s organization aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
A secured summer unpaid internship with a nonprofit or government agency.
Supervised by a professional in the field.
All undergraduate class years are welcome to apply. May 2025 graduating seniors are not eligible.
