Pre-Departure
Hey everyone! My name is Miles and I’m a Junior at UMD, double majoring in Finance and Supply Chain in the Smith School. I will be studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) during my Spring semester. I am beyond excited to begin my semester abroad and I hope you enjoy following my journey through these posts!
Today marks the day that we all head over to Barcelona for the start of our semester abroad program. I’m anxiously waiting for my flight to board in a couple of hours as I’m doing some last minute packing and getting ready. I’m super excited to be able to study abroad in such an exciting city like Barcelona. I’ve been there before with family for vacation a few years ago, but I have never lived there long term like I will be in the Spring. I’m most excited to explore the city’s nightlife, shops, restaurants, and attractions and figure out how to juggle being a student while also enjoying traveling with my friends. I’m not too nervous or worried about being in this foreign country for 4 months because like I said I’ve been there before and my family also loves to travel so I have been out of the country many times before. I would say I’m more anxious than anything to get over there already and experience what I and all my friends have been talking about since I was a Freshman at UMD.
I can’t wait to share all my stories and adventures through this blog for the next couple of months. The next time you hear from me I’ll be all settled into my place in Barcelona!
