Cheers to those who came to visit
Hey everyone, it has been a while since the last time I posted on the blog. I was traveling around Europe during the longest spring break, around 3 weeks, of my life and didn’t have my laptop to keep everyone updated. I want to share all the exciting and adventurous experiences I had during this trip but I’ll tell you more about it in my next post. In this one, I want to write about visiting London and exploring more of the Manchester city center with my friends from back home, who came to visit me for their spring break! Even though I am having a fantastic time studying abroad, I often miss and reminisce about three things from back home; food, friends, and family. It was nice to see that some of my friends were willing to spend their spring break in the cold/gloomy weather of England, instead of going to Florida or Mexico, to hang out with me.
We first went to London, then came back to Manchester to show them how my life in Manchester was going. In London, we did all the typical touristy activities such as staying only in the central London, Westminster, visiting the Tate museum, and obviously being on the London Eye. However, I was able to show them the greater city of Manchester as well as the different parts of the city center, characterized by their own unique atmospheres. My friends noted visiting Manchester was a lot better than London because they felt like they saw the city as a whole, instead of just main parts fully developed for the tourists. They also mentioned, it seems like I’m enjoying my time in abroad, expanding my horizon to the new culture and people, and how I encourage them to consider studying abroad as well!
