ESN Italy – Incontro Culturale Erasmus
It’s truly insane to think that it has been 3 months already since I was home in America.
I definitely miss a lot of things at home, but that feeling pushes me to make sure I make the most of the time I have here. As Andy Bernard said in The Office, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.”
That being said, this past weekend was one of the best experience that I have had so far. I highly recommend this event for all people who study abroad in Italy. ESN or Erasmus Student Network is pretty much the study abroad organization for all of Europe. They host many events throughout the semester that are great at introducing you to new people. This past weekend was the ICE (Incontro Culturale Erasmus) trip which is a nationally recognized event. Over 3,000 study abroad students came together to travel to Rome for an amazing weekend of fun, food, and friends. This included a visit to the Vatican, a visit to the Colosseum, and a neon party with 3,000 students in one club.
Some of you, by this time in the semester, may still be looking for that perfect group of friends. If that’s you, push yourself to go to these kinds of events and meet new people! Just think about it. These are people that you probably will never have otherwise met. But now, you can go to any country in the future and have a great host to show you around.
