Spain: It’s a Wrap!

In leaving Madrid and coming back to the United States, I couldn’t help but think about the impact Spain had on me and other students. Spain felt like a different world, and studying design thinking and innovation in that world definitely gave me a new perspective on daily life in the United States. Learning about biomimicry and how nature can inspire technology, architecture and art was a refreshing take on innovation. Understanding how physical, logical and emotional factors play into creating a timeless design was also eye opening. Another key takeaway is how valuable experiences are. Whether we were in Barcelona  interacting with Gaudí’s architectural work, wine tasting at ArtCava – or in Madrid learning about paella, experiences are important to create skills and memories. While we live in a fast paced society here in the states, Spain taught us to slow down and take a step back to see the bigger picture.
