The futuristic country- Singapore

Singapore is a rather small island with a very hot and humid climate. The food, culture, and atmosphere are aspects that made Singapore so memorable. I really got to immerse myself in the culture as well as see the hustle and bustle lifestyle that Singapore has to offer.

This pass was used for the MRT and buses for transportation to company visits and adventuring around the city. Most people use the MRT instead of driving because owning a car is very expensive.

From all the cultural visits and sightseeing we did it really showed how Singapore Singapore is very innovative and becoming using technology to their advantage. There were a lot of significant differences than in the United States. More specifically, we took the MRT, which is equivalent to the metro in the states, to get to everywhere. Also, one aspect that I found very unique is how they separate all their waste not just from recycling and trash but the recycling was separated into paper and plastic which made the city extremely clean.

One cultural activity I really enjoyed was going to the sunrise cooking academy to do a cooking class and a fruit foot spa. The fruit foot spa was definitely an unforgettable experience. Sunrise academy created the fruit foot spa as a way to clean and replenish our foot after a long day of walking and standing. The fruits were left over bits and pieces that they did not use in their dishes and then were frozen and thawed out for the spa experience. We had to step on the frozen fruit which made our feet really dumb but it was very freshening at the end. This fruit spa is created by the sunrise academy so it is only done in Singapore. After that, we were taught a cooking class by chef Pang. We made a 3 course meal, all famous Singaporean food which included chicken satay, laksa, and ondeh ondeh. Chicken satay is essentially a kebab which included a lot of spices such as tumeric and cumin. Next, we made laksa which was noodles and shrimp consisting of coconut milk and chili. Lastly, the dessert was ondeh ondeh made of sweet potato, rice flour, sugar, and rolled in coconut. This experience definitely allowed me to immerse myself in their culture as we got the chance to see how famous foods were prepared. The food is something I definetly will miss as well.

We had the opportunity to attend a cooking class and learned to cook 3 famous Singaporean dishes.
