Pre-departure to Korea

Hello! My name is Mei Chen and I am a junior studying Finance and Operations Management. I will be studying at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea in the upcoming semester. I have always been a fan of traveling and I thought to myself: If I am going to study somewhere, I should go somewhere I’ve always wanted to go. And for me that place was South Korea.

My main goal for the semester is to improve my Korean and hopefully travel a lot. I chose this program because it allows enough free time for me to go out and explore the city. It is also extremely affordable since I would pay the same amount of money that I would just studying here.

I am both excited and nervous for the upcoming trip. It is supposed to be extremely cold in Korea and coming from Maryland, I do not know if I am ready for it yet. I am also worried about the language issue since I only know basic Korean. However, I am ready to step into the country where delicious food is EVERYWHERE.
