Fast food in Chile

KFC in Chile offers delivery, and even hosts birthday parties. That’s how the Colonel wanted it to be.

Chileans appreciate these American pastimes and the fast food staples have become an important part of Chilean culture. Although Kentucky is about as far as one could get from Chile, the real meaning behind the fast food dynamic is a globalized economy. Chile is a global player.

It was evident when I went to Dunkin’ Donuts. The cups still read: “America Runs on Dunkin.” I laughed when I noticed that, and so did Starbucks. McDonald’s has adapted it’s menu to Chilean tastes, offering avocado on a number of its items, but not on the McPollo, the Chilean McDonald’s take on the classic McChicken. But, as expected, the Golden Arches are always there. So, I’m on my quest now for some fries. Take it easy!
