La muerte me da gira alrededor del descubrimiento de cuatro cuerpo castrados que son encontrados junto a versos o fragmentos de Diarios de Alejandra Pizarnik. Pero hay fragmentos de esta poeta que se intercalan también en medio de la narración. La posibilidad de resolver el misterio de las muertes pareciera estar comprendido en esos versos. Son estos los que se intentan entender, llegar a lo que hay detrás de esas palabras.
Kristeva establece que en la narrativa la matriz de enunciación se centra desde un “yo” o un “autor”, que no es una proyección del rol paternal en la familia. Pero esta posición es móvil, “the matrix of enunciation structures a subjectal space- in which, strictly speaking, there is no unique and fixed subject” (91). La novela distintos puntos desde los cuales se estructura la narración.
En este sentido, se me ocurre la imagen del caleidoscopio para pensar la forma en que se presenta la relación entre poder y lenguaje. El caleidoscopio genera formas, que en realidad no existen como tales, sino que se forman a partir de un juego entre la luz, trozos de vidrios y espejos. Esas formas, que en el momento que en momentos se presentan como una unidad, son de por sí fragmentadas, y al menor movimiento se vuelven a fragmentar y reorganizar. Me parece en este sentido que la novela está atravesada por la fragmentación del discurso, de la poesía de Pizarnik, de los propios cuerpos.
La novela desarrolla constantemente una crítica sobre el propio lenguaje y sus alcances. No todos los personajes tienen nombres propios, sino que son nombrados a partir de cómo que el/la narrador/a los define, por ejemplo: la Detective. Pero ese/a narrador/a (¿o esos/as narradores/as?) rompen también con la idea de unidad o linealidad del texto. A su vez, los versos de Pizarnik sirven de eje para esa crítica: “la lengua natal castra” (55), “las palabras no hacen el amor / hacen la ausencia” (56).
También me parece interesante nombrar que las que intentan llegar lo que hay detrás de esas muertes y esos poemas son mujeres, frente a esos hombres castrados que son víctimas, y como se dice en la novela, las víctimas son siempre femeninas.
A mí también me llamó la atención el énfasis que la novela hace en la fragmentación. Como lo puntualizas, los versos (poemas fragmentados) que se intercalan fragmentan la narración. Esto me hizo pensar en la función del cuarto capítulo. El capítulo es un ensayo que Rivera Garza somete a Hispamérica, una revista académica de literatura. El capítulo, según Naranjo, inscribe a la otra Rivera Garza en la narración. La inclusión de la otra Rivera Garza fragmenta la novela, puesto que interrumpe el desarrollo de la trama. El libro pasa de una narradora interna a una extradiegética. El ensayo, conjuntamente, fragmenta el género del libro, ya que deja de ser estrictamente una novela. El ensayo, por su parte, mantiene un aspecto narrativo y además es muy posible que haya sido sometido no como ensayo sino colaboración para la sección de ficción que tiene la revista. La dificultad para encasillarlo es evidente. Llama la atención, y no parece ser casual, que el ensayo trate del deseo de Pizarnik de cultivar otro género. Lo que queda claro es que el libro crea una tensión con la idea de género. Da la impresión de que escapa a un molde y en este sentido recuerda un tema importante del ensayo de Kristeva, puesto que en éste la idea de salir, escapar o subvertir un límite es recurrente.
Esa imagen del caleidoscopio me parece una metáfora apropiada para describir la novela, particularmente por su uso de “la luz, trozos de vidrios y espejos”, como dices tú. De hecho, esas imágenes de luz y espejos se repiten por la novela.
También estoy de acuerdo que la fragmentación explica muy bien la forma de la novela. Sin embargo, al mismo tiempo, creo que también hay un elemento de la narración que quiere resistir a esta fragmentación. Por ejemplo, la narradora lamenta: “?Qué corta más que una palabra?” (Mensaje N.10), o “Sabías que, después de extirpados, siguen doliendo. A mí me dueles tú, por ejemplo” (Mensaje N.9), como si en el acto de escribir “yo” se estuviera cortando de “tú.” Me parece que la narradora sabe que el acto de escribir causa una fragmentación–una castración–pero que ella quiere evadir, de cualquier manera, esa certeza.
