Explore design through a cross-cultural lens in this hands-on immersion into Spain’s varied approaches to design and innovation. Through visits to venues such as Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Casa Batllo, Montserrat, and the Royal Palace, students will glean inspiration and insight from iconic Spanish design practices as they strengthen their own cross-disciplinary design and innovation skills. The course is co-taught by instructors from UMD’s Smith School of Business and Academy for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and includes a dynamic blend of cultural and organizational engagement, team-based activities, reflections, and application, creating a memorable and engaging experience.
