From Ropes to Prototypes: Cohort 42 Dives into QUEST Camp

Cohort 42 at QUEST Camp

Earlier this semester, we swore in our newest members of QUEST: Cohort 42! Let’s take a look back at their QUEST Camp/Orientation.

Cohort 42’s QUEST Orientation, otherwise known as QUEST Camp, was held at YMCA Camp Tockwogh from January 22nd – January 23rd. As we all know, orientation is a great experience for the incoming cohort to learn about QUEST, work together, and bond while participating in some fun activities! Some of these activities included a ropes course, improv, and the famous pilot product presentation.

Dahlia Shafiq (Cohort 42) said that the improv activity was a great way to “see everyone’s personalities.” Shafiq, along with Cohort 42 students Yesha Shukla and Ojal Arya, really enjoyed the low ropes course as well. Shukla explained that the ropes course was a new and exciting experience. “I never thought I’d learn everyone’s shoe size while on a tightrope!” Shukla said.

Cohort 42 also undertook the infamous pilot product competition, where they developed and pitched different product ideas to the Quality Guild in less than a day. The winning team and mentor received special QUEST padfolios!

Not only did Cohort 42 attend orientation, but their mentors did too! Mentors are an important guide for 190H students, helping them become better leaders and team members. So, what’s some advice that the wise mentors have for their new mentees? Hannah Lee of Cohort 38 suggests that teams really get to know each other and play to each team member’s strengths when working together to be successful. Ayman Bootwala of Cohort 38 hopes that his mentees “have fun and learn a lot along the way.”

Welcome to QUEST, Cohort 42! We can’t wait to see where your QUEST journeys take you.
