Launched in 2018, the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Scholarship Program supports undergraduate students enrolled at the following Washington, DC–area institutions:
- University of Maryland (UMD-CP, UMB, UMBC)
- George Mason University (GMU)
- Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA)
- Montgomery College (MC)
- Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VT)
- University of Virginia (UVA)
- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)
- University of the District of Columbia (UDC)
Eligible students must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents, regardless of ethnicity (except for the 3 gold scholarships mentioned below) who demonstrate:
- Outstanding academic achievement,
- Strong leadership potential,
- A track record of service to the communities,
- Pride in their culture and heritage,
- A passion to apply their academic background to create a better world
- Accepting scholarships at the Scholarship Award Ceremony.

- 3 Gold scholarships will be reserved for Vietnamese students from Vietnam, who have been accepted to the above 10 U.S. universities.
- Each scholarship will be $3,000 annually (Diamond Prize), $2,000 annually (Gold Prize)
- The top scholar will be awarded $5,000 (Platinum Prize)
- The scholarship is renewable annually for up to 4 years, for students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
